Inspired by acupuncture’s remarkable effects for her own whiplash injury of the spine, Sorrel began her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) over 20 years ago.
After completing a Master’s degree in TCM in 1995 and earning her California acupuncture license, she interned at several non-profit community clinics before assuming responsibility at Peninsula Holistic Health Center while the owner took maternity leave.
Sorrel Sand opened a Spanish speaking acupuncture practice in Chiapas, Mexico where she treated a wide range of patients and conditions, helping many people in the local community return to healthy, pain-free, productive lives, and after several years moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area, again establishing a practice and deepening her knowledge of TCM.
From 2005 - 2009 she was based on the Mediterranean Island of Santorini, Greece, and provided acupuncture and massage for a group of 5-star hotels and luxury yachts, in addition to establishing a private practice for Santorini locals.
Returning to the Bay Area in 2009, she has settled into a pleasant, easily accessible office in Berkeley at Rudramandir (www.rudramandir.com)
a beautifully appointed healing, movement and musical arts center, where she invites you to come experience the gentle power of this time-proven system of healthcare for yourself.
She is equally comfortable communicating with patients in English or Spanish, and to a more limited degree, in Greek.
Sorrel loves helping people like you regain health and well-being, while empowering them with the knowledge to sustain their positive changes.
